How It Works
Think of Me as the General Contractor for Improving Your Business.
You may need marketing, software, automation, AI, training, or a better process. The important part is choosing the right trades, putting them in the right order, and making sure they work together.
Diagnose Before You Prescribe.
The Check-Engine Light
If your truck has a check-engine light on, you don’t take it to a mechanic and tell him to replace the engine. It’s possible the engine is the problem, but deciding on the solution before diagnosing the problem doesn’t make sense. Most business owners ask for AI, software, or automation because they believe it’s the answer. Discovery has to identify the real problem before I choose a solution.
The Quiver Full of Arrows
AI is one arrow. Automation is one arrow. Marketing is one arrow. Software is one. Process improvement is another. The point isn’t showing you every arrow I have. The point is figuring out which arrow should be used, if any at all.
The Three-Step Approach
No corporate theater. No fifty-page report written to make the work look complicated. Just an honest assessment, a clear recommendation, and a practical next step.
Understand How the Business Really Works
We start with a real conversation. You walk me through how the business makes money, how customers move through it, where work gets stuck, and what frustrates you, your employees, and your customers.
Find the Highest-Value Opportunity
Not every problem deserves a project. Some work should be eliminated instead of improved. Some problems are only symptoms of something farther upstream. I look for the change that creates the most meaningful improvement.
Use the Simplest Solution That Works
The answer might be AI, automation, marketing, software, training, a spreadsheet, or a simple change in how work gets done. I’m not here to sell you the fanciest answer, I’m here to recommend the one that produces the result.
Behind Every Recommendation, the Same Priority Order
Before anything gets automated, it goes through this sequence. Skipping steps usually just creates unnecessary complexity later.
Automation should improve a good process, not preserve a broken one. If a spreadsheet solves it, I’m not going to sell you software.
We Usually Start Small, On Purpose.
The best first project is rarely the biggest one. I’d rather earn the next project than sell you the largest one up front.
- Solves an obvious, meaningful problem
- Produces visible results quickly
- Requires minimal disruption to how you already operate
- Builds trust before we talk about anything bigger
What This Looks Like in Practice
Revolutionary Floor Coatings
Paste Becky’s video embed here. YouTube or Vimeo, 16:9 ratio, 60–90 seconds.
“It was worth it in the end. Look what we have.” — Becky
The Situation
Revolutionary Floor Coatings didn’t need another company sending reports about clicks and impressions. Becky needed to know which marketing was producing leads, appointments, and sold jobs, and where money was being wasted.
The Result
We rebuilt the marketing around measurable business results, connected the lead flow, improved follow-up, and used the actual numbers to guide future decisions. The goal was never more marketing activity. It was more profitable work and a system that made better decisions possible.
Add the final verified results and timeframe before publishing. Two additional client quote slots also still need real names, business type, and city.
Critter Control, Sam Helton
The Situation
Sam Helton runs a critter control business. His inspection fee was $99, and proposals were inconsistent, technicians would propose repairing the damage an animal caused, and separately offer animal-proofing, but only when they happened to think to bring it up. Real revenue was being left on the table at almost every inspection.
The Result
Two changes. First, we raised the inspection fee from $99 to $189. Second, and the bigger one, every inspection started automatically producing a full proposal covering both the repair work and the animal-proofing, presented every single time instead of being left to a tech’s judgment call. A meaningful share of customers who would never have even been offered the upsell before bought it.

CoatingPro360
The Situation
Before I consulted on this problem, I lived it. Running my own epoxy and polyaspartic floor coating business, I was pouring floors during the day and losing leads because I couldn’t call people back fast enough. A homeowner would fill out a form, genuinely interested, and by the time I got a free minute to call, they’d already hired someone else.
The Result
I built my own lead follow-up system to stop my own business from bleeding leads. It worked well enough that I kept building on it. That system eventually became CoatingPro360, a full lead, marketing, and job-management platform other coating contractors now run their businesses on.
It’s the clearest example I have of the actual OEK process: understand the real problem, find the highest-value fix, use the simplest solution that works, then let results decide whether it’s worth scaling.
I treat every recommendation as though I owned the business myself. If a simpler or less expensive answer serves you better than anything I sell, that’s what I’ll tell you.
Let’s Talk About What Could Work Better.
No pressure. No prepared pitch. Just an honest conversation about your business.
